The sprains in the ankles are one of the main reason injuries are created. This damage, generally, is produced when you twist or twirl your ankle in a rare position, which causes that the connection tissue from this part of the body, also known as ligament, breaks or tears up. These ligaments are very important due to the fact that are the ones in charge of the union between the muscle and the bone.

Even though, the tissue is very strong, if you force them above their average posture, they will break. Despite of being very common, normally they are very hard to heal. This is why Clinic Kam recommends our patients to be in complete rest if they are affected by this condition, always taking into account the recommendations of your doctors, but also considering the danger of this lesion without proper healing. If it does not get healed correctly, it may be worst in a future.

It is also recommended to have a well-prepared rehabilitation process in order to help the muscle acquire the elasticity lost with the injury and the resting. But it is always good to know that the ankle will take time to get used to have all the resistance that it had previously, so try not to overwork it, this advice is for everyone but especially for those that practice some type of sport professional or non-professionally. If you do not take this in mind, it will make your condition worsened and it will take more time to be cured. Furthermore, to prevent these injuries, our clinic recommends making a previous warming up before and after any sport sessions and never exceeding your own resistance.
