Years of exposition to the sun can cause damages to the skin, like spots or even skin cancer. To reduce the risk of suffering sun damages, the best thing is to lessen the exposition to the sun and to protect the skin against UV rays.
However, once the damage has been done, there are different treatments that aim to reduce the effects caused in the skin by the sun during years. One of these is light therapy.
Light therapy treats the different dermatological diseases by exposing you to artificial light. During this treatment, a lamp that emits ultraviolet light is used. These lamps are designed to filter out harmful ultraviolet (UV) light that damages the skin. Light therapy is a safe method that produces mild and short-lasting side effects very similar to the ones produced by the exposition to the sun.
